A nurturing environment designed to spark imagination
The nursery is housed in a beautiful timber-framed building overlooking the Adventure Playground on Felix Road. Against all odds, we opened our doors in the summer of 2020. This is the second Raised in Bristol nursery in partnership with Eastside Community Trust.
This setting has a welcoming and homely open plan feel with the toddlers and preschool children sharing a large room with big double doors opening onto a safe and secure garden giving the children free-flow access to the outside.
The homely baby room has plenty of space to roam and explore with its own set of doors leading to its own section of outside play area.
The garden in this setting has been designed to promote adventure and imagination with a large sandpit, wooden climbing frame and mud kitchen alongside loose parts such as tyres and planks for children to build their own creations that extend their play. With the adventure playground in sight over the fence it’s an exciting and engaging space for children to play and explore.
Proud to be a social enterprise
As a Social Enterprise Raised In doesn't have any owners or shareholders. A share of any profit (or surplus) is reinvested into our communities for the benefit of all. This is our second nursery in partnership with Eastside Community Trust, we provide them with a long-term and sustainable rent income. This unique location next to the Adventure Playground means the children have regular trips there – we even have our own gate from the nursery garden in.
Supporting community spaces and celebrating the diversity of our locations and our children and team have always been at the heart of what we do. All are welcome at our Raised in Bristol nurseries. Our ethos and curriculum focus on supporting children to feel connected to their local area, helping them to become active and engaged citizens with a strong sense of place and local pride. Eastside Community Trust is a vital part of the local ecology, supporting your communities to be resilient, engaged and welcoming.

Food glorious food
We recognise the importance of a balanced, nutritious diet in a child’s development.
Take a look around…
"I was worried about my daughter settling into nursery as she's always been very attached to me and would cry when being held by others, add being in lockdown on top of that with no mixing with other people or children I thought it would be awful! The staff at Raised in Bristol were wonderful helping her settle in, very caring and playful with her and she very quickly became familiar with them all. The nursery has a lovely calm atmosphere to it and I think that helped her not to get overwhelmed. She gets excited now when we buzz the door and after a hug from me, walks in with one of the team and no tears!"

“It really has been such a pleasure to watch RiB grow, not just in number of children but in fantastic staff and in their place in the community. Most days when I drop my daughter off I wish I could stay and play all day too, and I can't think of a better endorsement than that!” A Raised in Bristol Parent
