Welcome to our nursery
in St Pauls…
Raised in Bristol at Docklands Community Centre is a 56 place day nursery for children aged 6 months – 5 years old open Monday to Friday from 8 am – 6 pm. Raised in Bristol nurseries are open all year round, 51 weeks of the year, for the benefit of working families. We only close between Christmas and New Year and the major English Bank Holidays.
Our dedicated nursery team of Early Years professionals provide a hand for your child to hold as they begin their education, and we help prepare them fully for what’s to come. We offer play-led learning in a space that prioritises a nurturing environment, focusing on nature and nutrition as your children take their first steps towards school.

A nurturing environment designed to spark imagination
Our Bristol city centre nursery is situated in the vibrant community of St Pauls. This location is perfect for families living in St Paul’s and Stokes Croft, Montpelier, St Werburghs or Cotham and is easy to get to if you work in the centre of Bristol.
We’re based on the ground floor of Docklands Community Centre accessed via City Road in St Pauls Settlement, a building that has been much loved and used by generations of the community.
This nursery has three spacious and welcoming rooms designed to create a light and airy atmosphere, perfect for children to feel comfortable and at home. Each room is thoughtfully arranged to encourage exploration, play, and creativity. The natural light flooding through the windows adds to the inviting feel, making it an ideal space for children to learn and grow.
In addition to the indoor spaces, the children enjoy continuous access to a wide verandah located at the back of the building with free flow access from the preschool room. This outdoor extension allows for fresh air and open space, giving the children the freedom to switch between indoor and outdoor activities.
Beyond the verandah, lies a private garden, nestled behind the community centre. This garden is a peaceful, secluded space where children can engage with nature, explore the outdoors, and enjoy activities in a secure environment.
Proud to be a social enterprise
As a Social Enterprise Raised In doesn't have any owners or shareholders. Any profit (or surplus) is reinvested into our communities for the benefit of all. Full Circle Docklands invited us to open the nursery in early 2020. As our community partner, we provide them with a long-term and sustainable rent income. With our continued presence at the centre, we are helping to keep this valuable asset in the community.
Supporting community spaces and celebrating the diversity of our locations and our children and team have always been at the heart of what we do. All are welcome at our Raised in Bristol nurseries. Our ethos and curriculum focus on supporting children to feel connected to their local area, helping them to become active and engaged citizens with a strong sense of place and local pride. Docklands Centre and the Full Circle Project are a vital part of the local ecology, supporting your communities to be resilient, engaged and welcoming.

Take a look around…
"I was worried about my daughter settling into nursery as she's always been very attached to me and would cry when being held by others, add being in lockdown on top of that with no mixing with other people or children I thought it would be awful! The staff at Raised in Bristol were wonderful helping her settle in, very caring and playful with her and she very quickly became familiar with them all. The nursery has a lovely calm atmosphere to it and I think that helped her not to get overwhelmed. She gets excited now when we buzz the door and after a hug from me, walks in with one of the team and no tears!"

“It really has been such a pleasure to watch RiB grow, not just in number of children but in fantastic staff and in their place in the community. Most days when I drop my daughter off I wish I could stay and play all day too, and I can't think of a better endorsement than that!” A Raised in Bristol Parent
